I have never tried the Sony EX71, but when I was buying my last set of headphones I did loads of searching reviews, and the EX71s performed pretty badly

I tried a set of these when I got my headphones and I thought they sounded okay, but from what I remember, I did not like the fit (and I much prefer the in-ear headphone types) and they felt a bit 'flimsy'. Also I thought that you got quite a bit of the 'reveberation' sound from your footsteps (although I know that you do get use to that as I had this problem with my old headphones).

Only you can answer that. I spent a stupid amount of money on my headphones, but I think they are worth it as I use them all the time
