Open the command prompt. Start -> Run -> type command and OK that.
Navigate your way in the command prompt to the folder you have SkyShare installation file - assuming it hasn't installed yet - and then type
java -jar nameofthefile.jar
It should then open it. And again, it's longwinded to do each time you want to open it, but command prompt again, find the folder that skyshare.jar is installed to, then again java -jar skyshare.jar
Are you using Vista? Because I am, and I think for some reason it's not using the -jar argument and so it's not opening. In XP you could make it so -jar is added when you open a JAR file, but they've taken this out of Vista for some reason. There is a piece of software to do it, but I forget the name, plus it costs money :P

Hi Benv and Solaris-
I travel with my inspiron that's why I want the program to work on my inspiron- the dimension is a desktop at home. Benv I've tried everything to get this program to work and it just doesn't seem to want to open it. Very weird as I've never had any problem opening any program on this laptop- it's brand new and I'm running XPsp3. OH well- thanks for at least trying to help.
