rolly, sorry for such a late answer, but i had to check first. the things you are looking
for, SD card and USB inputs, are still made. for street musicians, for kids, for public
presentations, and similar. maybe in not quite as sturdy a version as the
drive-over-by-a-tank sample you mentioned, but still outdoor versions that
would take some beatings. and sound boooooombox-loud.

problem is, they are not sold in the western markets anymore. you get them
in the mideast, the indian subcontinent, parts of africa, russia and even the balkans,
but not anywhere where AMAZON would look. give me a PM how interested you
really are, and i find a few samples for you, pictures and prices. also let me know
where you are, and i find some way to get it there.
