well, enjoying, really enjoying music has little to do with the bit rate, only too
true. i can listen to a particular song, on a tiny speaker, and still, having heard it
100 times, get a tingle in my stomach. i can listen to obviously great artists, no
doubt, directly from a HD DVD, into a 6-$-digit stereo system, and it does sound
great - but no tingle. there goes the bitrate discussion ... to a degree.

you know that just thinking of some music can bring tears to my eyes? usually
those of joy ...

PS: a good example was the mentioning of Procol Harums Union Chapel recordings
a couple of days ago, right here. just thinking of that long version of AWSOP (which
i had not listended to a long time: it was a xmas present some 4 years ago) made
me, well, weak.
