FindNot

I used http://www.findnot.com/ for a year.

The BIG plus is they have servers all around the world (7 countries or so)

Look here for countries : http://www.findnot.com/servers.html

Service is not so easy to setup for Mac's but will work (I helped make the Mac setup "manual"). I'm a Mac only guy and didn't try a micro$hit () PC but it looks like there are more options for those on the "dark side" ...

Service speed and stability isn't always perfect but once you find the right server it's ok.

There is a new FindNot PRO subscription (not tested) for a hefty US $ 299.-- / year

Relakks

I use https://www.relakks.com/ since a little less than a year and think it's better but they have less options (no socks, only PPTP) but for the majority it's enough.

Stability is MUCH better but you get disconnected every 2 hours or so.

Speed is MUCH better, you can even use Skype (talk) through their proxy's without hearing any difference !

All servers are located in Sweden where the laws are "smart" enough to give some privacy as long as you don't seriously break the county's laws, in other words Relakks can't be forced by authorities to give your IP as long as the "offence you committed" is worth less than 2 years in Swedish prisons ...

Relakks is my recommendation for "only" € 5.-- a month or € 50.-- a year !

Both services work great for P2P (torrents, Gnutella etc)

Never personally tried TOR, I think it's a good system but I prefer to pay a small monthly fee and avoid the not so straight forward setup...

Any comments welcome !

Enjoy

there's also http://www.dold.se/. They started up at the same time as Relakks - but for some reason they don't seem to be concentrating so much on English speaking customers...
