Anchor Steam Beer - San Francisco
Samuel Adams (from Boston) - massive range of beers with loads of different styles on offer.

Also, not American, but you should try Budweiser Budvar from the Czech Republic. The real, original, damn it tastes of something Budweiser.

Whatever, there's no such thing as bad beer it's just that some are better than others
Hirs;

You are correct: Anchor and Sam Adams are very good and are two that I order when out at a good restaurant. Especially when someone else is picking up the tab!
PBR, to me, is a good "everyday" beer. The kind you have after mowing the lawn on a hot day. Goes down smooth and you can drink several without having to mortgage the house. I usually have a couple with my "everyday" cigar. The inexpensive ones that are good but don't cost a fortune. I save the Fuentes and others for special occasions.
I start a search for Budvar and add it to my list.

Thanks - Mark

Hi Mark, sorry I can across as a dreadful snob and didn't mean to. I also drink cans of Fosters after my wife has mowed the lawn
If someone else is paying there's great fun to be had exploring the range of beers on offer from Sam Adams; they do some great Wheat Beer, Fruit beers, Brown Ale, an Oatmeal Stout and a Cream Stout amongst others. I hear tell they also do a good range of seasonal beers but I've never had the pleasure

They do great stuff for Octoberfest I did go to university in Boston, and Sam Adams get their start there.
