Getting Your Priorities Right - 05-15-2008, 07:29 AM

There was a news story yesterday of police in the Northern Territory of Oz being appalled when they stopped a car and found the driver had put a seat belt on his just purchased case of beer, but NOT on the five year old child in the seat next to it.

Gotta love this country

Cheers,

Squash

Reinforcing the Aussie stereotype then....

On second thoughts, if he was that concerned about his beer, surely he should have put it straight in an "esky", rather than leaving it on a car seat in the NT (warm beer, no thanks!)

Reviving the second most important thread here......

Oktoberefest brews are starting to hit the shelves, a bit early I might add, but color me tremendously excited.

As a side note the ABA came out with their state of the brewing industry report, with all the consolidation and what not that has gone on and in spite of the rapid percentage rise by "micros" here, the 2nd biggest brewing group in the US (MolsonCoorsEnormoCo) sold more than the next 13 biggest brewers combined. Number one, AnheuserBuschInBevMassInc, is beer than they are by several hundred million.

Harvey's Best. - 08-22-2008, 06:09 PM

Great news today!

I have just had an email from my brother-in-law telling me he has managed to book places on a tour of the Harvey's Brewery in Lewes.

Tour of brewery, free tasting and then across the road to one of their pubs for more Harveys.

And all this just three days before my birthday - what more can a man ask for!

Color (or colour) me jealous. Have a pint of the Sussex Bitter for me. Oddly enough one this shores best breweries, Dogfish Head, used to be located in Lewes (Delaware that is). They've since expanded and moved up the road to Milton, DE.

Sounds brilliant It's a little while since I've enjoyed Harvey's and from memory there is a touch of sweetness amongst the hoppy maltiness. Have a brilliant time as, no doubt, you will

I will have to enquire if they will open a depot in Lewes just for you.

You will then be able to sample some real beer!

I could start celebrating on the 13th, continue through to the 16th and sober up some time in November!
