What really doesn't seem fair (didn't then, and never will) is the fact that Al Gore got more votes than Bush, then it went down to FLA where bush's brother was Gov, then Bush Sr. called his buddies (Baker) and the Supreme Court decided it with a 5-4 decision.

That still is unbelievable to me....

There is no need for you to apologise for rude Americans as I am sure there are many rude Brits as well

One of the things I find about Americans is that a lot of them are very insular and really have no idea what happens in the world outside of the US.
Recently here in the UK we have had nightly reports on the race between Clinton and Obama for the Demoratic Party nomination - I wonder how many Americans even know who the UK Prime Minister is?

You are right.That's why as a US citizen I LOVE being on this site and learning
about and from this Global community.I'm sorry I don't know who the PM
is after Blair as well,but I do watch the BBC news once or twice a week
on our PBS tv stations.But then again I'm not much of a politico myself.
But care about the people's and their rights and plights.

BTW It's John McCain and Obama that are the running candidates....
