Bon Jovi! - 07-12-2008, 02:54 PM

I am off to see the free Bon Jovi concert in Central Park tonight. Ticket graciously donated to me by my nephew, who stood in line all night to get them. Guess that means I'll be going with a crowd of adolescents. But oh hell, screw it, they are all over 18 and I plan to have a brilliant time (despite doctors orders to stay off my feet!)

They are rumoured to be selling at $1,000 a piece on eBay, which made Jon Bon Jovi kinda upset, since the actual concert is promoted by Bank of America and therefore free of charge for those, who have laid their hands on some tickets - just like the young Princess there

Be careful Vik, sounds a bit heavy for you, have a great time.

Dreamy,

It was BLOODY BRILLIANT (to say the least!) I had to beg and plead for my nephew to give the ticket to me instead of one of his buddies who was eyeing it. What with the flu last week I completely and utterly forgot about it, till he called me at 1AM last night and said we are gonna make an early start and go there from morning. Lucky that we did. The enormous Great Lawn housed about 60,000 people and we were no more than 100m from the stage center; full view and all; royalty spot. We were in the top 1,000-2,000 entering the Lawn.

Bon Jovi was in top notch form. Acoustics were out of this world, being outside. Richie Sambora was a class act! The excitement surrounding the All-Star Game really permeated this concert, because it was the opening event for it and Bon Jovi really loved playing Central Park, cause it's historic. So, all in, all - it was PHENOMENAL! WOW WOW WOW!

Wish you'd been there, Min Kære

Thanks for the review, Vik

Bon Jovi are a GREAT band and do a superb live show - saw them way back in 1988 at Wembley Arena (showing my age now!) - they rocked!!!

Starcat, in 1988 you must have been sitting on top of your fathers shoulders clapping your tiny hands to the rhythm of "Bad Medicine"
