One of many requirements on Yom Kippur (in addition to fasting) is not wearing of leather shoes.

It is always fairly amusing to see people donning suits with flip flops, dresses with sneakers, shockingly appaling canvas keds, etc.

Well, this year I had become consciously aware of a new development in Yom Kippur fashion - crocs!

Opinions please... Especially you, Europeans - can't you just tell an American 5 miles away when they trundle about with their swiss-cheese-holed Fugly crocs? Or are you as crazy about these kaloshes that are the "middle finger to fashion", as the article says, as majority of my style-unconscious countrymen?

luckily I now work for a company that also produces "vegan shoes" (Birkenstock) so I was able to wear those the last week and not look like a doofus since "Friends don't let friends wear crocs"

Sorry everyone, I was away on business with little internet access, however I did make a killing at the poker table!!
