Just kidding, I mean thrifty drinkers.

I was talking with some folks hereabouts on the subject of how much a fill up at the boozer costs, of specific interest was the difference in prices between the UK/Ireland and here owing to the weak (barely breathing?) dollar. I've noted before regional differences here in the US but was curious what the drinking members here are paying at the pub/tavern as of now for a pint of 1. Real Ale/good micro, 2. cooking lager/standard drafts, and 3. a reasonable glass of Red wine.

As mentioned I know the dollar, the US economy in general, and a shortage of hops (cost up 300% in some cases) and barley figure in.

I promise to do nothing with this info but blether on at length about how things were so much cheaper back in the day (last year).

1. Harvey's Best Bitter - approx £3.80-£4.20 a pint in pubs, about £2.60 direct from the brewery in quantity. My other preferred beers (London Pride and Adnams IPA) are pretty much the same.

2. Don't drink cooking lager but I do buy 750ml bottles of Leffe once in a while from Sainsburys (supermarket) on offer - two for £6.00

3. Again I don't drink red wine in pubs. I have just bought 15 bottles online for approx £7-9.00 a bottle. I usually get about four glasses from a bottle so that would make it £1.75-2.25 a glass.

If you have one watch you know what the time is. But if you have two you don't know which one is right.

The more advice you get the more confusing it becomes.
