Are DMs the greatest footwear in the world? The answer is yes. Discuss.
It's not class or ideology
Colour, creed, or roots
The only thing that unites us
Is Dr Marten's boots
Dr Marten's boots of the world
So that everybody can be free
They're classless, matchless, ageless and waterproof
And retail for only 19 pounds and 99p
What should everyone be wearing?
Those boots with the air-flow soles
And your boots will have a meeting
And your boots will take control
Thanks to Dr Marten everyone will have warm feet
Thanks to Dr Marten they'll be dancing in the street
No... don't you want me?
Okay, boots - do your stuff!

Dr Marten's were the required footwear of the skinheads 
Although I must admit they did not look like those, they were more of a boot but I still associate them with 'bover boys'.

I used to love my DMs when I was a kid, and the way you cut your hair doesn't make you a bad person, although if I now saw a gang of skinheads walking towards me I probably would cross the road . Think I'll stick to me hushpuppies now, and walking boots when it's wet

I know what you mean if you're talking some lunk wearing Oxblood Combat boots, but DM makes a lot of footwear. It's the only thing my poor wee tootsies can take. Air Wair all the way.

Agreed, but unfortunately skineads seemed to go out of their way to cause trouble.
Their reputation was probably created by a bad minority, but the general public will always associate members of a particular group with that minority.

OK, since I am in the footwear industry as a job and a hardcore "shoe dog" for the last 15 years, I have to disagree with you on this one. Although they made me A LOT of money selling them during college in the 90's when I worked in an actual store, that was the 90's So I say, the 90's called and they want their boots back. 
If you want a killer pair try Havana Joe, ECCO, or Mephisto's Karl if you can find it.
