Thumbs up European Champions League final - 05-22-2008, 02:38 AM

hello,

i would like to congradulate Manchester United for winning the championship today.

i was able to watch the game on espn 2 this afternoon. it was a great game that ended in penalty kicks. it was all tied up until Ronaldo missed his kick, which i could not belive. then Chelsea's captain john terry missed his kick and MU went on to victory.

it was a fabulous game!!

You are not, but Manchester United are. They were supposed to walk away a loser. Terry. GRRRRRRRRRR! Some captain he is! In a true England fashion - screw up on penalties.

Oh I just can't wait till I am in London. I can watch footie to my heart's content. Awesome!!

i really cant belive that terry missed the kick. those europeans are crazy for there soccer. i bet that terry is on suicide watch and is getting mad death threats. its amazing at the treats these guys get after huge matches like this one. if mu did not win ranoldo would be were terry is at right now, in the gutter.

ps Solaris please bring back the dude with the remote-control.

cr

Hard luck, Chelsea! - 05-22-2008, 10:11 AM

I watched the game and enjoyed it as a neutral observer as I wasn`t supporting either side.
It was a really close game and could have gone either way.
But when it comes down to penalties, it`s a lottery - anything can happen.
I felt sorry for John Terry, he`s a fine player and great captain and didn`t deserve that. But his foot slipped just as he hit the penalty. (It was bucketing down with rain at the time).
You`re right though, Vik, yet another Englishman missing a penalty and another hard luck story.

Strange to see other nationalities commenting on this, I can`t believe I`m the first British person to post on this thread

Terry is a fine captain. You're right. Tough luck. Terrential rain in my hometown of Moscow didn't help matters

Come on... other nationalities... Bring it on! I beat Hirs Ute to a pulp with my British curses . I could fit into a crowd of cacklers really well. Plus, I'm a beer drinking chick - been conditioned by the finest drinker in the world - an Irishman!

Although since I got sick, I've not had a drink in months. So when I had only a couple Amstel Lights yesterday, it had a rather immediate effect

I really empathise with that - had a bad bug last year and didn't have a beer for about 6 weeks, which is unheard of for an Aussie.

Cheers,
