I actually forgot one of the British comics that I listen to a lot: Eddie Izzard. The only comic I know that can do 20 funny minutes on the Trojan War.
I also forgot Bill Cosby. Early Cosby is brilliant. His 20-30 minute bit about sharing a bed with his little brother: "To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With" is a classic.

Quite a few Russian comedians - but naming them would be lost on most of you here. That humor is more near and dear to my heart. It's more sharp, more politicized, more raw. It's not that I don't "get" American comedians. I do. No language barrier there. It's that, well, not funny to me. I tried

no doubt, when she is right, she is right. not that it happens to often, but ...
>> more sharp, more politicized, more raw
absolutely, but you also know where it comes from. and why. the same, by the way,
goes for jokes - in any of 'those' countries: east german humor by far used to beat
west german humor. at times, still does.
but still, give the entire 26 minutes of 'To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With'
a try. it is out of a different area, a different world, and hilarious for sure. have to be
in the right mood, though.

What's that supposed to mean, eh?
... but I'll give both Russell AND his brother a try and let you know what I think of them in the same bed I do have my reservations about liking it. Seem like rather predictable jokes. But I might be in for a good time
P.S. I die of laughter listening to Derek and Clive (that's Dudley Moore & Peter Cook; for the uninformed). Go figure.

All righty then. Your retort bordered on funny, so I'll give that routine a listen in the nearest future.
But for now gotta go to sleep - and my melons are coming with me

So now, you've managed to offend both Squash54 and Shadman. Good going, Dreamy.

Great to hear that you like Derek & Clive, Vik
Their routines were very popular here in the UK back in the 70`s and 80`s, even though they were never broadcast on TV or radio for obvious reasons!
They are very funny, but not if you are easily shocked or offended.
Here`s a link to one of my favourite clips on YouTube - has me in hysterics every time : YouTube - Derek and Clive are muppets
