That was the first one I though of when I read the thread title, but then decided that it's probably so famous that the name just rolls off the tongue without being funny and strange as it once used to seem.

The The in the early 90's with Johnny Marr on guitar is one of the best live shows I've ever seen.

The Beatles is a pretty funny name, if you really think about it

The funniest download I ever got from Emusic was:

Billy Bacon and the Forbidden Pigs

and the albums name was "The Other White Meat"

I really enjoy this record and recommend it.It is Rock 'a' Billy and Rock and Roll influenced.

Toad The Wet Sprocket and
Fat Briefcase & The Drivel Biscuit
were fictional bands on TVs "Rutland Weekend Television" in a spoof sketch based on BBC2 TVs Old Grey Whistle Test.

Someone actually named their band Toad The Wet Sprocket.

BBC Radio 4 "The Burkiss Way" also did a parody of Whistle Test, their fictional band was Vegetative Walrus Culture.
