As someone born a mile from Green Street and a lifelong West Ham fan it is basically a film about football violence which occured a lot in late 60's and 70's, at many football grounds. I have not seen the film, but like most films some parts are probably overplayed for the viewers.

It was said that some groups went for the fight and not the match.
The entrance to the West Ham football club is in Green Street even now, but the area has changed a great lot over the years and it is basically an Asian area of London now.
