MP3 Bitrates - 06-12-2008, 01:23 PM

Hmmmmm, I am a wee bit concerned. Just downloaded a track that is supposedly 320kbps, but it really isn't as the quality is dire. Is it possible to burn a track that is say originally 128kbps & then re-burn it into 320kbps? And then claim that it is a 320kbps download.......

I remember RedSmurf (or one of the other bit rate gurus here) was using the below tool to decide whether or not a MP3 file had been tampered with: Bitrate Calculator

Thanks peeps, I shall now go & calculate, knowing my luck I shall probably come up with "42". Which according to Red Dwarf, 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

Fruit and berries on strange planets either make you live or make you die. Therefore the point at which to start toying with them is when you're going to die if you don't. That way you stay ahead. The secret to healthy hitchhiking is to eat junk food.

Oh no! Not the fish again! Some members of this forum have acute allergy to fish
