Tonight it was kinda obvious that the German players had their minds set on winning the World Championship in two years time, thus not playing at full strength

This kind of psychological behaviour has been seen MANY times before - for instance in boxing where the defending champ often has seen past the challenger put in front of him because a more important and (on paper) difficult fight was in the works

So good to see true talent coming through, and The Team of the Tournament deservedly getting their just reward !
The single goal score of course doesn't tell the whole story...
Germany did not manage a SINGLE direct shot on the Spanish goal in the entire match.....
While Spain had over 20.
If Spain had won 5-0, it would not have been unjust !
So superior and dominant they were.
Never have I seen such a woefully inept German side - especially in ' defence '...

It was indeed a True Victory for Football.
A thoroughly marvellous tournament.
Spain wakes this up this morning with a universal hang-over

Spain were deserved winners. The Germans were unusually poor, for almost the whole tournament really. Still doesn't take away from the quality of the Spanish squad. Now I don't feel so bad that we only lost to 'em 1:0.

I completely agree. I've never seen Germany play so badly. The first thing for the coach to do is to replace the entire German defence.

I was also very happy to collect my £50, this morning, and my just rewards for selecting the winning team in the office sweepstake
