Just one for me! - 06-03-2008, 08:27 PM

I don't get out to the theater much these days, but my all time favorite movie is Fargo. I know it's very gory, but the Coen brothers really nail the Mid Western US quirkiness!

Saturday is the ENTIRE Lord Of the Rings trilogy extended versions in a row if my wife can stomach it.

Going to watch a fav of mine now "Boiler Room" with a killer cast, then on to another fav "School Ties" with the young generation of actors first(ish) movie (Damon, Affleck, Brenden Frasier, etc.)
Boiler Room is great - think I need to see that one again.

3 others came to mind -- Rounders (Damon / Norton), Sleepers, American History X.

All About My Mother is Spanish (subtitles) - you might like it if you haven't seen it.

Monsoon Wedding is from India, Y Tu Mama is from Mexico, as is Pan's Labyrinth.

Whale Rider is from New Zealand (great movie!).

Watched Rounders and Sleepers last week. Great minds think alike, even if you are a Buffs fan. I assume Broncos too?

I'm a big fan of Almodovar. I did spot "All About My Mother" in your list. I love "Cabla con Ella" ("Talk to Her") the best.

Speaking of Mexican films, have you seen "Amores Perros"?

Have not seen Amores, but I'm putting it on my list! Almodovar is great.

Also liked Frida, with Salma Hayek.

Amores Perros is a quality film.

Yeah, Salma Hayek is stunning, even with a unibrow

I'm a much bigger Broncos fan than a Buffs fan. I'm really not a huge Buffs fan, I went to a smaller state college. Only when we play Neb. and Texas, then I'm a big buffs fan.

Amazes me at the talent that comes out of texas every year (Fri. Night Lights).
