The Story of the Guitar - 10-03-2008, 07:16 PM

Just seen a trailer for a TV program on BBC1 Sunday night at 10:20pm - looks as if it will be very interesting.

It appears to be a three part series with this weeks episode entitled:

In The Beginning
"Alan Yentob explores the history of what is regarded as the world's favourite instrument. Tracing the development of the guitar from Hittite cultures of 3400BC through to the electronic models of today, he finds a common perception of freedom and youth married to its sometimes bad reputation. Featuring interviews with John Williams, Paco Peņa and Pete Towsnend"

Obviously this is might be UK only. I have just looked at the BBC America website and there is no mention of it on Sunday, but it might be worth checking to see if it appears in the future.

Ashley
If you have one watch you know what the time is. But if you have two you don't know which one is right.

The more advice you get the more confusing it becomes.

Ashley, Ashley, Ashley...

These days it is not only possible to watch EVERY programme on EVERY TV channel from EVERY country ALL OVER the Globe WHILE (or after) they are shown - It is also VERY easy to do so

I know I'm so backward on these things.

I forget that there are those of you who are so much more able than me to master this new fangled technology, perhaps you could assist others if they desire to watch it.

In that case, watch the last edition of Later . . . With Jools Holland (BBC2) featuring "live" performances by Dave Gilmour and Elbow, among others.

I think that's because it has not yet been aired, first program is on next Sunday evening.

I'm sure if you check next week it will be there.

Oh. Very well may be. I guess I figured it's already on DVD, as most quality TV programs are? I'll check back. Quite keane to see this one, once time permits, only for self education purposes really. I've never developed particular appreciation for the guitar. Perhaps this might help.

Unfortunately the BBC do not release all their programs on DVD. As this is only three programs I very much doubt it will be on disk.

Hopefully someone (more able than me) will record it and upload it for others to view.
