Good luck with you new audio system.Tell us about it,If it is good enough for Flac it must sound really good.

Take care my friend..
Hi Jeff,

Pleased to hear you have got a new mp3 player - not had any experience with the Sansa but Sandisc make good media cards so it should be good. From what you have said it sounds a lot more versatile than my ageing iPod but the 120Gb capacity of the iPod is extremely useful.

As for my new set up I bought a Marantz M-CR603
coupled with a pair of Monitor Audio BX1 speakers
with the music served from a Synology DS212j fitted with a 2Tb hard disk.
I have to say it sounds great playing flac files so I have been re-ripping all my CDs and trying to find flac versions of my mp3 downloads.

I was checking on Amazon when I came across Zoverstocks. As I said they sell used CDs for very little - normally just £0.01 so all you pay is the postage.
They obviously make their money on the postage as even when I order a number of CDs from them they all come in separate packages.

Thanks Jeff.

I picked up a copy of Mark Knopfler's album last night. I've not listened to it fully yet, but from the couple of tracks I heard it sounds great.

One thing I forgot to mention about my new set up is that Synology do an iPhone app that allows me to access my stored music and to stream it to my iPhone when I am in range of my wireless network. I can now sit in the garden and listen to anything from my collection - albeit in only the quality of the iPhone - but still useful when I stop for a break. I think I could also do it over the Internet when I'm away but I've not yet figured that one out.

Chris once again we part ways I couldn't if listen to full songs on some of these. We have been gelling a bit lately but you lost me with this one.
Thanks though I am always interested in new music and I think all that are interested in some metal with diversity should give this a shot,I can see it's appeal but not where I am now...

Always a pleasure my friend...

Hi Bruv,

Sorry to upset you , but not a metal band, a rock band yes, but agree they are an acquired taste.
My wife likes them because of the Twilight Saga's, their music appears in the films, and the lady who made the films stated she listened to them a lot when writing Twilight!
The leader of Muse is Matt Bellamy, a great writer and guitarist, his partner is Kate Hudson, the daughter of Goldie Hawn.

Hopefully you might like next month's "Free Album of the Month", a leader of a few bands now gone solo under his own name, do not be put off by the fact he is a born again christian, and features some songs about God and religion, he is a great muscian and writer of excellent songs?
Any ideas my friend?
He is a big favourite of mine and I have most of what he has done!

Regards
Chris.
