Mogwai - a Scottish band that's mostly instrumental.

Learned about them by reading a detective story. There's a series of detective novels written by Ian Rankin and the main character, John Rebus, is a big music buff. There's usually a couple of scenes in the book where Rebus will get in a discussion about music and I'll learn about some unknown group. One of my favorite cds is by a New Zealand group, The Mutton Birds, and I learned about them in a Rebus novel.

I guess the moral of this story is that you actually DO get wiser, if you read books...

I keep telling my students EXACTLY this thing - but do they listen?

Live Pink Floyd: "Pulse"....I've heard some people slam the album, but it's not bad.

Guitar Man - 07-18-2008, 04:40 PM

I seem to be listening to "Guitar Man" by Kula Shaker off their "Tattva" Best of album. One of those random buys which actually turned out to be rather good
