Nice list (Bauhaus, Weller, Charlatans like them all )...makes me want to listen to "why can't I touch it" by the Buzzcocks! Also some curve - "pubic fruit / doppleganger" tracks.

Thx K. Like the list I posted yesterday, this is an iTunes Genius-created playlist (they're saying Youk!, right? ). I can pick the first track from my library, run Genius and it will create the playlist from tracks I own. I try not to look ahead, and get pleasant surprises at how it can stay in the groove and at the same time wander out of the Genre a bit (but not too much).

Not the best person to recommend here as I have only listened to two or three of their albums; but 'Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain' is very good, but it took me an age to 'get it'

+1, it's a tough nut to crack.

I would recommend Brighten The Corners as an intro. It has some great tracks like Shady Lane, Date With Ikea, and Blue Hawaiin but the "pièce de résistance" for me is Embassy Row. It''s a classic.

Pavement is gone, but the creative driver Steve Malkmus is still a pretty hot shit around the Indie scene these days...

iPod on Fire! :) - 10-23-2008, 01:09 PM

On the way to work this morning, my iPod has procured possibly its greatest (in my humble opinion!) random playlist ever! Music always effects my mood, but right now I am positively radiant!

1) "Could it be Magic" (covered by Donna Summer)
2) "Blackbird" (The Beatles)
3) "Stronger" (Kanye West)
4) "If You See Kay" (The Script)
5) "Love Shack" (The B-52s)
6) "Let's stay together" (covered by Mica Paris)
7) "Jam Tonight" (Freddie Jackson)
8) "Electric Barbarella" (Duran Duran)
9) "Holiday" (Green Day)
10) "Wishing on a Star" (covered by Will Downing)
11) "I Just realized" (Brand New Heavies)

I miss Solaris Were he here, he'd have most definitely commented on my iPod's phenomenally refined taste in music

That is quite a nice random list V. I love when that happens.

Have you upgraded to iTunes 8 yet? If so, have you tried the Genius function? Others are down on it for the mind-sucking info it provides to Apple, but if you can get past that little problem it will give you back some very good playlists.
