I picked that up last night ,a new greatest hits package. It's a really
great, fun listen...I enjoyed going back with old music ,that meant a lot
to me at one time.

We are in sync....

I loved Rockpile in the 80's and his ex-partner Nick Lowe is a wonderful
singer songwriter as well.

It's an old CD - possibly bought around 1985 - but Steely Dan were always sticklers for state-of-the-art sound. Does anyone know anything about the quality of old CDs?
It has been Re-mastered at least 2 or 3 times since then.
And with quality recordings like they have, it really made a difference.
Your downloads are definitely remastered versions from original sources.
Back in 85 they did not necessarily use the master sources to create
recordings.

Thin Lizzy and their "Greatest Hits", actually splashed out on this one as it was on special at Amazon for silly money.
A good selection from another old, but great rock n roll band.

Been listening to a compilation I made of the Dandy Warhols. A few months ago, after reading about them in this forum, I filled two CDs with Dandy Warhols tracks. When I played them back I wasn't too impressed and wondered why I'd bothered. Then I played them in the car today and they sounded fantastic. Suppose it shows that you can't always account for changing moods when you download stuff. Also, if you spend a lot of time trawling through someone's back catalogue you can sick of hearing them and perhaps need a break to appreciate them fully.

Hi Gaucho, I know exactly what you mean and that's why I find it so difficult to rate my music. One day I'll give a track 2 stars but the next it gets 4.
The influences on music taste change so much depending on emotions, diet, alcohol intake and maybe even weather.

I think my favorite music is the stuff I "didn't get" in the first listening.
It's the music that slowly draws me in, is usually the keepers for me.

Hirs whats's the name of the group that sounds a bit like Springsteen.
I wanted to return to them but forgot their names..Didn't get them at first now there's something drawing me back in.Heard the music on the radio, but they didn't say who it was....Thanks...
