Mott the Hoople and "Live Filmore West" good songs but not the best recording, even from Alltunes.

I have been listening to Me And Mr Johnson by Eric Clapton for the past couple of days.

I watched a program called Clapton Sessions on Sky Arts on Saturday night. It was about the making of this album by Clapton as a tribute to Robert Johnson a blues singer from the 1920s.

Great album if you like the blues

Great album and one of the better tributes to one of the greatest
blues-men Robert Johnson.Clapton's famous "Crossroads" is a Robert Johnson
song. Also check out the real deal Robert Johnson in any collection form.
Listening to him gives you a real history lesson of the Blues and I bet
you'll recognize many of his songs that were done by contemporary artists.

Thanks to you and all the others here on this great forum

There have been times when I nearly gave up on Sparks/allTunes not being able to top up my balance, but the friendly banter found here makes all the problems seem bearable

Not sure I will ever be able to make the post count of some of the more prolific members (you know who you are ) but I will keep plugging away.

I have got Crossroads on vinyl - Live at the Fillmore album that I bought in the early 70s along with the studio record. Haven't listened to it in years as my turntable is stored away somewhere.

I must download a copy from Sparks and as you say check out Robert Johnson.

The majority of contemporary music has its roots in the blues however deeply buried it may be.
