Are you looking for vinyl? - 09-21-2008, 02:03 AM

I hope this isn't considered spam?

If anyone in the USA is interested,JR.com located in New York City, has vinyl albums for sale.
Maybe someone would like an vinyl version for collectors reasons?

They sent me an email,so I checked it out.
Not sure if the prices are anything to brag about, but anyhow:
Music at JR.com

Thanks Rolly,

I used to go there for Classical and Jazz cut outs for imports at really low prices.
Tower Records had a Vinyl annex on the lower east side not sure if it's there anymore. : )

Sundazed Music - 09-21-2008, 03:11 PM

For re-releases of older stuff and obscure bands, give Sundazed a shot:
WELCOME TO SUNDAZED MUSIC.
Lots of vinyl there as well as cd's
I have bought from them and can highly recommend.
Prices are not bad and they do some package deals that can really save some
money.
I believe they are in upstate NY.
No used stuff though!

Mark

It would be wise, though - to remember - that buying ANYTHING from a seller in the U.S.A. and have it shipped to a country within the European Union could add as much as 250% to the original price of the object

I was looking at their usb turntables.

I've seen these before, and they have always included audacity as their "software",but they never disclosed that fact in the advertising.
Audacity is free, and most people probally already have a turntable.
One just needs to buy a Y-cable,and then you don't need this product at all.

Now I see they DO mention audacity.
Found here
Quote:
• EZ Vinyl Converter 2 software (PC) and EZ Audio Converter (Mac) for hassle-free recording

• Audacity recording (PC and Mac) software included to reduce vinyl noise and pops
Would anyone have an idea as to exactly what their "EZ Vinyl Converter 2" software is?
More free software that you don't need to buy this product in order to use it?
Or is it still audacity that is the "EZ Vinyl Converter"?

I've got more vinyl than I know what to do with. I'm still involved, in what I'm sure will be a lifelong project, to convert that which I can't find elsewhere from Vinyl to MP3. Luckily many of the things I thought were vinyl only are slowly coming out digi, though there will always be somethings (5 Hand Reel, Dead Fingers Talk, etc.) that will never see the bit and bytes daylight.

Interesting!
Just out of curiosity, what kind of taxes/charges are incurred? Must be a one way deal as nothing was charged to me when I bought the Mott stuff from the outfit in the UK (CeeDee Mail.

Thanks - Mark
