GoMusic Down? - 04-05-2008, 10:41 PM

Hey, y'all!

Anyone having problems getting over to GoMusic? I've tried heading over there and I get a "Page Not Found" message. I tried to get to LegalSounds also via Google and got the same message. When I went back via AoM3 to a more specific link I got through. Trued the same thing with GoMusic, but still can't get through. Any chance my ISP is blocking me from "illegal activities," or is GoMusic really down?

I tried unsuccessfully to get on a couple of hours ago and it is still not working. Hopefully just a blip,
Cheers,

Not getting in either - 04-10-2008, 04:28 AM

Hello, everyone. Long time forum member, first time poster...

I was on the site and adding music to the card Monday, but I get the "Page cannot be found" message when I tried to log in just now. I certainly hope this site has not gone under as well!! To lose both GoMusic and MP3sparks would completely break my heart!

Update... - 04-10-2008, 04:47 AM

Hi again...

I found this right after I posted my last message, while searching another thread. It was a post from the great Solaris...

Try to change your DNS-settings to OpenDNS.

Do like this:

Open Network Connections
Right click your specific net connection (LAN?) and choose properties
Choose Internet Protokol (TCP/IP) and click properties
Choose Use The Following DNS-server addresses
Default DNS-server : 208.67.222.222
Alternative DNS-server : 208.67.220.220
Click OK
Click OK
Done

Tell me if it worked - it will if you've done it right.

I just tried this myself, and it worked like a charm!! Now I am back in the game with GoMusic!

About a year ago I started having the same problem....posted in several different forums on different sites to see if anyone had any solutions that would help. I tried them all - and it wasn't until probably January-ish of this year that I found out the REAL problem I was having with GoMusic....

(recap first) I suddenly couldn't get on to any of the site. It started one day with not being able to download and then the next day all other pages gave me a "page not found" or "IE cannot display the page" (depending on the browser I was using). Got a new (read: SECOND) computer in my home office and still couldn't get on. Emailed GoMusic several times - they helped me do a trace that indicated things were going through so it wasn't "their" problem. Emailed my own ISP to see if they blocked the site ... still no help.

In about Jan08 I experienced an unrelated issue with my ISP that resulted in them resetting my IP address. Guess what - suddenly gomusic was back. I emailed my ISP to ask if there could have been a connection between the old IP addy and newfound ability to connect to my beloved Gomusic. Their response....

....absolutely!

If you try the "ping" thing, and the "open DNS" thing and all those other "things" one can try on their own without destroying their computer and still nothing works, perhaps think about having your IP Address reset by your Service Provider.

...or, maybe their site is just down for a bit? I just tried it (when I read your post - just out of curiosity) and it worked for me - I am in Canada though, so perhaps thats like comparing apples and oranges?
