help..can't download songs - 10-14-2007, 04:15 AM

I purchased songs on gomusic.ru and downloaded them. When I try to play the songs or set up a sync list I get the following message:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.

So, I tried to download all the songs again and I can't. The status button is grey and status is 'downloaded'. You can't click on the button and I can't access the tunes to put it on my player.....AH!!!!

Appreciate some help! Thanks! I know I am a moron. I didn't right click and save, I just downloaded using firefox and now I can't get the music to play.

It sounds as if you have saved the links to the song files on your computer. The only way I see is to contact the costumer service and tell them what happened.

Hi dietcokejunkee and welcome to the forum

We have some forum members, who are vastly more tech-savvy than I am, so stay tuned for their help - but until then please check this:

If you can see the downloaded files, then check if the extension is .mp3. If it's not - then rename the extension to .mp3

Hi Dietcokejunkee. Where did you go to try to download the tracks again? Maybe this is what you have already tried , but if not try:
Go to 'MyAccount'
Click on 'Archive'
That should show everything you have ever purchased from GoMusic and you should be able to download again from there.

If they're still not there contact GoMusic 'Support' (link at bottom of the page). I've always found them fairly helpful.

Fingers crossed

You're right, Hirs, they do have the same service as SoundsBox and MP3Sale

Problem seems solved

looks like I am out of luck - 10-15-2007, 01:30 AM

Here is the response from Olga at Gomusic:

You can repeat download your purchased files from the archivehttp://www.gomusic.ru/history.aspx (click right mouse button on the link-green arrow and select "Save target as", then choose destination folder formp3 file) if the limit of downloading has not been exceeded. If the status ofthe file is "Downloaded" or you see message "Overdownload" you can't downloadfile again without payment.Active mp3 files have links to mp3 files - green arrow.

I only downloaded the songs twice. Once when I first purchased them all and then the other day when I tried to fix the broken files.

Urgh! Thanks everyone for your help. Looks like I will have to buy my tunes elsewhere.

I didn't know that GoMusic had a limit to the number of times you could download the songs

SoundsBox and MP3Sale don't have such a limit

Hi dietcokejunkee.

Did you use a download manager again or did you in fact right-click and save all the files?
