Downloads of newer releases - Still not working - 03-27-2008, 09:14 PM

I tried the downloads in my cart today, the download process of "new" releases still doesn't seem to be working. I wish he could put a message on the mp3sale home page saying "Maintainance in process..." while it's down or "Maintainance complete" when it's up and working. I know patience is a virtue

I'd just like to know by going directly to the home page rather that checking on this forum or trying it out to see if it works, only to have it fail.
Seems like others on their forum are wondering the same thing....

I think that's a reasonable request....

Hi Pastor,
sorry to be a drag, but do you have any up-date on how things stand with your site at the moment? I understand that the two albums which I ordered the best part of a week ago have been put on hold until you have sorted out some issues, but if I were to order another album, would that just get stuck in the same holding cycle or would it download. I.e. Is there a simple way of knowing if an album is available to download now?
Cheers,
Dave C

It's been a long time

My daughter downloaded (we thought) about 5 songs last night but the folders just contain the maintenence message.

Not like the songs are that expensive, but will I have to buy them for her again when your problems are resolved?

Perhaps you should explain that no downloading should be attempted until these problems, greater than you anticipated, are fixed. The way you are doing it now reminds me of mp3sparks where everything looks fine but all is not as it appears.

Since no one from that site has explained exactly what the problem is, I can only make an educated guess:

Mp3sale uses multiple servers for storage, the newer server(s) seem to be where the problem exists. When they say newer releases don't download, what they must mean is "new" to be located and reside on that new server. I have a CD from 1997 & 2004 that won't download, so year of release isn't totally relevant, although one would surmise that the newer stuff is being put on newer servers (the ones with the problems). The mp3's that successfully download are more than likely on a different, unaffected bank of servers. So basically it's a crapshoot depending on where the target download resides.

I could be off on this diagnosis, but hey...it's better than no info whatsoever.
Hopefully, pastor39 can give an update at some point, rather than people guessing, etc.

Kaeli, you're absolutely right.
As soon as we'll fix this server with newer music - you'll be able to download all that you've purchased without any problems.

I'll provide you with more exact information in a few hours.
