You're correct, his first name is spelt "Georg" and yes he was not born British. But then he wasn't born "Georg" either (or Solti, for that matter, his father germanized the Hungarian names) but he became "Georg" just as he became and died a naturalised British citizen.
By the way, the BBC Pronouncing Dictionary of British Names has been superseded by the Oxford BBC Guide to Pronunciation
