Hopefully Pastor39 can help... - 10-15-2008, 05:22 AM

Pastor39,
Can you explain why in the last few weeks MP3Sale has had terrible download speeds? Prior to this time, I was downloading at 250-300 Kbps. For the past two weeks now however, speeds have ranged from 10-30 Kbps (and sometimes even slower!).

I've done everything I can to determine whether or not the problem was mine.

1. I have called my internet service provider and they ran several tests to make certain the problem was not theirs.
2. I have downloaded various files from other websites and my transfer rates were 250-350 Kbps as normal.
3. I have tried downloading songs from your site using different computers (ie. home desktop, laptop and work desktop) and I'm getting the same results (transfer rates ranging from 10-30 Kbps or less).
4. I have run various anti-spyware and anti-malware programs to be sure my computer was clean of any malicious items. It is clean and protected.

Again, this problem only began within the past few weeks. Prior to this, files were downloading great. So this leads me to believe in only one conclusion: apparently the problem is coming from MP3Sale's end.

Can you please help?
Thanks,
ballth

I have not downloaded this week yet, but I did last week with no problems what so ever, if nobody else complains then the chances are it is your end.

To be fair, I get the same problem with "millisong" and no one else seems to suffer. So, I only download very early in the morning (UK), if I am lucky I will get 100kbps, other sites including "sale", I will normally get 400kbps? I do not understand it either.

It simply must be at your end, ballth

I just downloaded Everything But The Girl - The 90's Collection from MP3Sale.ru and it took less than 25 seconds at 3,350 KB/sec.

Do you use a download manager, ballth?

I use Free Download Manager and these days I rarely get download speeds less than 3,000 KB/sec. in any of the shops (except for MP3Sparks, which has always had slower download speed for me - I get speeds around 1,200 KB/sec. there But that's better than allTunes, which is the tortoise amongst downloaders with its 250 KB/sec.)

Hey ballth,

Long time no see.

I concur with solaris FDM has been working wonders for me since
he recommended it, and I get good speed coming from the site about 800 kbs

I'm back after nearly a month. I've done some more cleaning and checking from my service provider. After a few more days of experiencing this problem, everything went back to operating normally. I have never been able to download anything as fast as Solaris does. I think that would be amazing! I thought 250-350 kbps was fast. Anyway, I'm back to running at those speeds again.
I was using the Flashget Downloader before these problems began, but after all the cleanings took place I seem to have accidentally disposed of it. Anyway my downloads are working fine now without it, so I guess I'll leave it alone.
All the same, thanks to everyone who offered suggestions.

Hello Ballth...

How are you?

You know you're one of my favorite people,BUT you have to drop
the signature. We don't do politics here, because it ends up causing rifts
between members. We have discussed this before and many believe this is
the best thing for all.
Already we have even a British Gentleman in disbelief....

Please do this at your earliest convenience.

Thanks for your understanding,

Nightfly

"Already we have even a British Gentleman"

I will take that as a compliment Sir Fly!

Chris and Nightfly,
Although I disagree with keeping silent about my beliefs, I am not one to cause riffs and strife on a non-political forum. Therefore my signature has been changed to delete any evidence of political viewpoints.
I will say I thoroughly enjoy MP3Sale's motto however, DESTROY THE SILENCE. And though I realize it is not intended as a political slogan, it still makes me smile!
Sorry, but it's just hard for me not to be somewhat controversial. Maybe its a good thing I'm not on forums more than I am.

All the best,
ballth
