Soundtracks...enough already!!! - 04-13-2008, 09:32 PM

Quick note for Pastor39...
I realize mp3sale is having some problems right now. I try not to complain too often, but this is becoming a headache to me (although probably not to others). I check your "Updates" almost daily hoping for requested albums to be added. For a few weeks now almost everything newly added is a soundtrack album. I appreciate a good soundtrack as well as the next person, but enough is enough!!! My gosh, how many soundtracks do we need?? Can't you get back to trying to find people's requested albums? I am truly tired of seeing soundtrack albums being added to the catalog.
Sorry to complain...I still enjoy your site and hope everything gets fixed soon.
~Lou

Howdy Nightfly,
I've been OK, thanks for askin'. I've not been on the forums in a while. Kinda got sidetracked with a website called Paperbackswap.com. In the past few months I've been bitten by the "James Patterson bug". I've read about a dozen of his books in approximately 3 months. He's one hell of an author. So that's been eating up a lot of my spare time lately.
I've been a little frustrated with the music sites lately. I hate putting too much money on multiple sites, then worry about having download problems. I've been sticking with mp3sale for quite a while now, but the soundtrack thing is really getting old.
Again, I'm trying not to bitch at Pastor because I'm sure he is being bombarded with complaints about the maintenance problems. But those soundtracks are getting way too old in the "Updates" section. I've been requesting a few albums and I'm still waiting for mp3sale to find them for me. Hopefully they will, but I'm being patient and trying not to whine too much.
Hey have a great day.
Talk to you later,
ballth

Quite a few of the rutunes sites I've looked at seem to have quite a large soundtrack section. Not complaining as the sites I use respond well to my requests. I don't understand the large soundtrack catalogs though, someone must be buying them

Many a time I've had my face pressed up against the TV screen, trying to read the tiny print at the end of a film to discover the name of a great song I heard on the soundtrack. The last time I did that was when I heard a track I liked in a Mexican film, Y Tu Mama Tambien. Couldn't find the title in the credits but Sparks had the soundtrack and I managed to find it there.
So it's quite good that soundtrack albums are available, although I can't imagine many movies where you would want the whole thing. Oceans 11 was quite good one, though.

As I wrote on mp3talks:
-----------------
Well, we're adding soundtracks now because we've merged with another mp3 site (which offered only soundtracks).
So, we're just adding their database to ours...

Thanks, pastor, for clarifying that and explaining it to our members.
Makes more sense of all the soundtracks being added
