I tested the alpha version of the UMD this evening. It seemed to work fine, I liked the look and feel of it and also it came up with all the songs in the My Music folder ready to go (nice). It gave a good visual as to what was happening, and it seems fairly fast as far as speed. So that part was good.
What I didn't like was that I couldn't find a way to specify a target directory for the downloaded files. It created its own directory structure --
/windows/profiles/ossadchy/"some Russian word ??"/my eMusic/ and then a directory for each different artist in the download list, even if I did not DL a song by that artist it still created a folder for that artist.
So I liked most everything about it, except for the file handling capabilities. And then creating it's own wacky directory structure under windows, not My Documents.
Also, is there an un-install to remove the UMD and any writes that it makes to the registry, etc.? If not, it needs one.
As for the name, I could give a rat's left teste as to what it is called. If it works well and does what it supposed to do quickly and efficiently, that's all I care about.
