Why not MP3sale.ru or Legalsounds.com instead? - 04-10-2007, 09:50 PM

Why on earth choose this site (which looks like an (expensive) stinker) over brilliant sites like mp3sale.ru or legalsounds.com?

If you make two new sub-forums with the above stores, I will write a review about each of them.

Of the newer sites mp3fiesta.com looks the part and even www.mp3legal.org and mp3shake.com look promising.

Stateside or? - 04-10-2007, 10:05 PM

Solaris:

Thanks for the response. I'm REALLY going thru AoM3 withdrawl. Thanks for pointing out the voucher contacts. Are you Stateside or across the pond? Wisconsin, USA, here.

Why in the world would Xrost fold up shop? And why is Chronopay copping an attitude? THey're Russian, right?

Just confused and dismayed and hoping that my favorite music service will return intact with a new pay setup.

Hey 2 Goldens. Where in WI? I'm from Manitowoc, but in TN now. My first post on this site - pretty new to this, beginning with allofmp3.

Hi 2Goldens, Chronopay are a Dutch site. As you may have noticed they have now stopped taking any payment from AOMP3.com. Seems either JCB or Chronopay have pulled the final wire out of the plug.

We used to have E-Centru who were based in something like Moldova but they went tits up months ago. Think I got 2 refills of my account before they bit the dust.

Have been reading reports off the AOMP3 blog that the could be shut down by the Russian authorities on 1st June as Russia aims for ratification of the WTO agreements. Hope it isn't true, hope it is one of those rumours that have a life of its own.

Thanks solaris, your continuous support will not go unnoticed.

Ive created a sub-forum for legalsounds. Couldn't get onto mp3sale.ru at the moment, could be a temporary problem (you know what those Russians are like), but will do after i've had a proper look at it.

It's the strangest thing. Every time I go through my balance section, I end up at the e-centru portal to payment (where you can still pay by Mastercard).

The only problem is... that I don't have one. Wouldn't be a problem to get one though. I almost get spammed by my own bank in their continous effort to convince me to get one.

But it is still very easy to buy vouchers here and a lot of other places on the web: http://www.museekster.com/allofmp3payments.htm - so for now this is fine.

For the record I'm not American but located somewhere in Scandinavia. where it almost gets as cold in the winter as in Wisconsin But thanks for thinking that my first language might be English

JHead - Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 'Can't wait for Spring. A big one's comin' tonight I hear! 4-7 inches for you guys.

Acordis - 'Sure is a bummer that AllofMp3 can't pull their bacon out of the fire. I heard that the AOM3 site was doing like, $30 million US per year. You would think with that kind of pull, they'd be able to do something and fast. I was hoping they'd be able to relocate to some Third World country where they could continue to do business. That level of business would certainly justify it. With that level of business, you'd think Xrost or Chronopay would just look the other way. Interestingly enough, Chronopay is taking payments from other mp3 sites, probably because they use the NP FAIR license rather than ROMS.

Solaris - Interesting that you get the e-centru option. Maybe because you're in Scandanavia and they continue to do business there? I checked out their site and there's no option to sign up like Xrost. Anybody have the skinny on Xrost (location, etc.)?

BTW...yeah we're as cold as you guys, you just have FAR BETTER-looking blondes up there! And yes, U WRITE GUD! LOL! Especially since you're not from Wisconsin (and a Cheesehead like me and JHead).

I was reading that with all the problems Russia is having with this Iranian Nuke issue that WTO talks are starting to break down. And the wierd thing is, NOW it's over agricultural (meat) concessions Russia want s the US to make for their farmers. Anyone hear anything about WTO?

Peace, y'all!

P.S. Any comments about the success folks having buying certificates? Are these guys legit? Any service recommended over the other? I can't seem to find any options on thsi site, tho'!

2Goldens:

Yep, it was the Ninja-site I was referring to as a stinker. At least it seems so at first glance - I haven't used it myself (for the very same reason).

It looks professional enough, though (with the flash-intro that you will get $10 on your account upon registration) but the site doesn't seem to get updated.

2Goldens: XROST is still doing some 48 hours maintanence (for the 9th week running) so I guess they will either come back as the greatest website ever or more likely: they have been "neutralised" by Visa and the RIAA.

I think that most of the guys that sell vouchers here on this forum found their way here after being kicked of eBay and it seems that they are receiving only good feedback. If one or more were scamming, I'm sure that people would have complained heavily in the Gift-vouchers section.
