Perhaps not - but there is a lot of mileage for humour in Skyforger himself

I have an account with MP3SUGAR, but, their webpage is not loading for me for the last couple of days. While searching for any news, tips, or browser fixes, I learned of striking similarities of mp3sugar with mp3count, and stumbled upon this this blog. I find it reasuring in a way to find people with my same problem or concern and expressing them here. So I ll say thank you all for posting...
Now, if I may, I would like to ask the following:
Has anyone received any e-mails stating that mp3sugar will migrate to mp3count? and if so...
Will the remaining balance from mp3sugar transfer to mp3count?
Has anyone been successful at contacting mp3sugar support?
Has anyone contacted the companies handling the transactions for mp3sugar or mp3count?
The reason why I ask is because the domains for the addresses for both support and billing for mp3count include mp3sugar.com.
Every website is down for maintenance, and mp3sugar has not being the exception, I have noticed that they are down for hours. Maybe, this time is different, because their downtime is being longer than usual and because I have been finding blog posts reporting the problem. Any thoughts on this issue will be apreciated.

Thanks!

Hi GHERDEZ and welcome to the forum

Even if I suspect that you are either a bot of sorts or a representative from MP3Sugar, I will try to answer some of your questions.

It seems that you posted your questions in the correct thread but failed to read the relatively few other posts on this 'newish' development

Had you done so, you would have read this post by gluteus maximus, which deals with the e-mails from MP3Sugar pointing to MP3Count: http://www.aom3.org/forum/48709-post4.html

To clarify about the e-mails I mentioned in my previous post: they looked like spam, they contained weird links which redirected to Mp3Count, and they were sent to addresses registered with Mp3Sugar. But they didn't actually claim to be from Mp3Sugar.

The page I linked to at Mp3Victim has this to say:

Quote:
Many visitors have reported extremely poor support to the extent of extinction.

MP3Sugar have no means of contact!

All emails we sent where reported back as undelivered so beware!

Hello SOLARIS, Hello GLUTEUS MAXIMUS,

Thank you for reading my messgage and taking the time to reply.... YEAH!
To satisfy your curiosity, I am not neither a bot or an MP3SUGAR representative probing to find out if the waters of the ocean of public opinion have turned acidic, or to attempt to sway people's minds through some elaborate master plan.
I experienced MP3SUGAR dissapearance as like an employee going to a meeting room while the meeting was moved at the last minute to a different site. Or like www.mp3sugar.com ----> GO... Blank... click... Blank... Click... Click... Blank... CLICK, CLICK, CLICk.... BLANK. It can't be... It was just here yesterday...
Receiving one of those e-mails that MAXIMUS GLUTEUS was talking about would have been nice. But, I didn't get any, even when I have contacted both support and billing in the far past, and fairly recently. Perhaps it would be a good idea to post the e-mails somewhere prominent in the forum. I really believe that I am not the only one who didn't receive them.

My thoughts of MP3SUGAR dissapearance were at first:
The website is down for maintenance, or maybe is being updated.
A day later:
Maybe MP3SUGAR is having some technical difficulties, maybe my computer has been blocked, and is time to try to access MP3SUGAR in another computer, time to find any changes that could have triggered the problem by running the antivirus, anti-spyware, making backups, and restore system to a earlier checkpoint. And nothing...

Finally... ok, I need help... and started searching: mp3sugar webpage not displaying, not working, problems with, blocked, support, billing, etc. Until I stumbled several times with this blog, and several others like mp3victim, and rather post a derogatory remark there, I figured: write a message put it in bottle and throw it in the www and hope that someone would answer.

I have also e-mailed mp3sugar billing and support through mp3count referred adresses and still waiting for their response to find out the answers regarding registration, remaining balance transfer, and their timeframe to resolve this issues. If I get a response I will post it here as reasonably possible.

If anyone received anything can you post it here and let everyone else know?

Thanks!

GHERDEZ

Mp3sugar has been on it's last leg for quite a long time.It is not a very
popular site with members here and they have never been known for
their customer service.I would advise anyone from giving them any
more money even under a different name.Unless they answer past
customer's concerns. They don't seemed very interested from what I can see.

Hello Nightfly,

I think you have a good point, don't give them any more money, unless they are able to service the customer's needs.
Although, for me, the thirty-some dollars of my remaining balance with them is not the only agravation, but the additional time to find another relyable store (because MP3SUGAR, except for this time, DID resolve various issues in reasonable time) that accepts US cards cards.
But, sometimes the bad things that happen to you are not completely bad, since because of this problem with them, I discovered this forum (I wish I had discovered it sooner) and a few other online music shops that I will start checking out... Any recomendations?

Thanks!

Hello Maximus,

The should-have-been-official notification was sent disguised as cryptographic SPAM. Contacting the customer without leting anyone else know or officially anouncing that they were moving their operation. SPAM as whistleblower in an underground party warning everybody attending that the cops are coming. Very strange, I can only speculate.

And now that you mentioned it, I realize that maybe, I did receive them. Too bad that the spam filter got them before I could see them.

By the way my e-mails sent to mp3sugar domain have returned to me as undeliverable as you mentioned in one your quotes. Under the Help tab at www.mp3count.com, both billing and support show @mp3sugar.com domain. Later I noticed that the About Us tab showed addresses with the mp3count.com domains. I resent my requests to the new domains earlier today. Will see what happens.

Thanks!

GHERDEZ

Hi GHERDEZ

Here are details of a couple of the e-mails; I don't think they'll tell you much. The removed links were to pages which redirected to Mp3Count.

Quote:
From: *******@yahoo.com

Subject: Popular groups and songs . Only full mp3 albums

Body: All tastes of music : most popular hits, classic and unrelased music. (LINK REMOVED)
Quote:
From: mail@mp3****.com

Subject: Broad selection of hits! Join now.

Body: Online music storage. See more details.
Please visit site (LINK REMOVED)
Like you, I registered with Mp3Sugar because it was the first Russian music store I found. Pretty soon I realised that their catalogue updates were infrequent, and that a lot of their content had a political leaning that I found quite offensive.

Then I discovered the other stores, with better selections of music, regular updates, good customer service, and in some cases, representatives who visit this forum. Nothing would induce me to return to Mp3Sugar now.

I could recommend the stores I use, but that wouldn't be fair on the others. Some of them have their own sub-forums here; have a read through what their customers are saying about them. As for which accept credit cards, I'm afraid discussion of payment methods isn't allowed here, but it shouldn't take you long to find out for yourself.

On top of the page we have a tab marked Music Shop Reviews written by
the knowledgable people of this site myself nicluded. They are detailed
and should give you a good idea of each store.Where you can make your own selection based on price ,catalogue, payment options and service.

I personally use Soundsbox Mp3sale Mp3skyline (now Mp3xclusive)
I also use Emusic for Indie World Blues Jazz ,all DRM free.

Any questions ask....
