Similar Alternatives? - 10-08-2008, 03:44 PM

Hello!
Ok, I, like many others, have been using Mp3sugar, and recently realised it was down and then stumbled across this forum.

I've read a few of the threads so i kinda know all about mp3count and whatnot, and as tempting as it is to sign up with mp3count, i dont want to incase that one gets shut down just like sugar.

Thing is, I listen to power metal mainly, so stuff like dreamtale, celesty, axenstar, freedom call, etc.. and alot of these sites ive looked into have a very minimal selection of that kind of music, atleast in comparison to mp3sugar.

Is there anybody here in these forums who are into the same kinda stuff as me, and can recommend a good alternative? At the moment I'm leaning towards legalsounds.com as they seem to have a bit, but still not as much as sugar. Anyone care to assist me a little with this? I'd be most obliged

many thanks in advance!

Hi & Welcome

I think our esteemed colleague Chris7 is the metal expert around these parts

He might guide you in the right direction when he comes along.

Thank you Vik for that big introduction.

Welcome Steelchampion, sadly my heavy stuff is more mainstream than yours with my favourites being the usual suspects. My advice to you is to have a good look at all the sites on here and perhaps join 4 or 5 as I and many others do, this gives you more chance of finding what you want. You can also request albums from most sites, especially mp3sale, because it has got its OWN forum and request page, the only one I know of!

Looking at mclub, they have 4 or more albums by all the bands you mentioned I've also found some good Russian Power and Symphonic metal that would be hard to find anywhere else. Check out Miriada and, if you need english lyrics, Dark Princess are excellent.
Happy hunting

Chris, you and Vik flatter me to much. I just happen to have an interest in theis genre of music and have done the homework to find what I belive is the best place to buy it. I'm sure there are many more knowlegable people on the site, even with regards to this genre. I'm just glad to help out a new member as I was helped out a lot when I first joined
