Thanks Solaris - I didn't register there and only saw a couple of payment options. I ended up registering over at MP3fiesta and was able to use my cc to set up an account.

First I signed up to an e-gold account, no problem, although there was a whiff of "signed in blood" about the procedure. Then it dawned on me that I needed to sign up somewhere else to put money into the account. Most of the alternatives they offered wanted bank transfers, but I found one which accepted credit card payment. So I signed up to them, only to discover they wanted me to fax them copies of my drivers license or passport before they would process my card. I've just tried this but my musicmp3.ru password was not recognised by goldenmp3.ru

Having said that I think the option to pay by credit card is back on musicmp3.ru

It's certainly not disabled on the payment methods screen any more. I tried to add $30 and got an on screen message (and an email) saying they were going to check my details and credit my account. This is despite the fact that I already had an account (balance was about $10 so I was keen to refill it a bit)

Also odd in that I did not supply them with a phone number to contact me (though I might have when I initially signed up but this was a couple of years agao so I can't remember but I somehow doubt it cos I'm more wary at giving my phone number out than I am with credit card details... stupid I know). How are they going to phone me to confirm anything?

Up until recently it was like stated - but you're absolutely right about both observations. Credit card payment is back on MusicMP3 and you can no longer use the same username/password to log into the two sites.

5 minutes later and I login again - no credit added to balance - and the credit card payment facility is disabled again.

Oh dear.... should I be worried that I've now provided my credit card details to someone other than musicmp3.ru

Just tried again - credit card payments temporarily unavailable - still no top up on my balance.

Checked my credit card (online) - nothing appears to have been proceesed there (though that's not unusual - they take ages).

Was it a blip.... did I temporarily slip through the net... I suppose I'll just have to wait and see

Well.....

Eventually this all came to fruition (almost). Balance has been added to my account so I'm happy and can start downloading from musicmp3 again.

The ability to pay by credit card (as I did) still appears "temporarily unavailable" though.... maybe they're trying to get it going again but very selectively.
