3 Great CDs!!! - 08-10-2007, 12:11 AM

I was checking these out on MP3Sparks, and I really, really liked them. I just got back from Best Buy and am cutting the wrappers off now!

1) Tesla - Into The Now
This came out a couple years back, but I didn't know about it until today. It's the best release Tesla has ever made. Very contemporary, holds up to anything getting airplay today. My 15-year-old would like this stuff. There are definite hints of both Nickelback and Aerosmith in some of the tracks. I am amazed at how much this band has matured and grown, at how relevant and contemporary their sound is while managing to retain their own identity and style. Get this disc -- it rocks.

2) Def Leppard - High And Dry
I had this on cassette, but I sold all those years ago. I'm rather disappointed that an 11th track remix of Bringin' On The Heartbreak wasn't included on this US release. Guess I'll have to download it? I remember it being on the cassette I had. Still, a great addition to my CD collection.

3) Rolling Stones - Rarities
I started collecting Stones discs after buying the remastered Let It Bleed. I could not freaking believe how good the remasters sounded and how much of the sound I had been missing before -- I was hearing instruments I had no idea were on the tracks before! I preview them with Sparks to help me decide what to buy next; have almost all the regular releases now. These rare tracks are going to really top off my collection nicely.

Downloading music is great, but nothing beats having that CD in your hands, especially when its good music by your favorite bands. I'm glad MP3Sparks lets me check stuff out before I buy.

I have Rarities by the Stones in my player ..love it..this is not a album
of fillers but of really grade A material that really rocks..The version
of Let it Rock comes from a Live at Leeds concert from 1973..
Soundsbox has a downdload of this concert..It really rocks..has the
Exile on Main Street band..highly recommended.
