Any Internet Radio DJ's Out There? - 07-24-2007, 04:25 AM

I wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so it ended up here. At present I'm building up my music collection and my self-confidence because sometime in the not too distant my goal is to be an Internet Radio DJ.

Are there any present DJ's out there in the community who could maybe give me some advice on the best way to get started?

Cheers,

I am Not a Internet DJ ...But I listen often to www.live365.com
where people create there own stations..There are many pro's who
have stations there as well as bands promoting their work..they also have a great community board for DJs and Listeners and very diverse music choices..
Some of my favorite Internet Stations are found there..
A great source to discover and share new music...with a great looking player
interface that tells you whats playing artist and track and sometimes year.

My husband and i ran our own station a year or two ago. One thing I know is that you will never have enough music. =) *Que AllofMp3*

We used SAM Broadcaster. It's rather pricey but it works VERY well. You get what you pay for, right? All of their software is availble, fully functioning, for a free 14 day trial.

I reccomend finding a radio station that you like. A lot of them have IRC channels. Jump in. =) Most stations are always looking for new DJ's.

There's my bit. =)

Just because you buy a new house doesn't mean your car should stop working. Right?

Hey Namroc,

Being an internet DJ is quite rewarding and very time consuming. The best way to get started is to find an internet radio station with interests similar to yours (gaming, oldies, etc.) and see if they're looking for DJs (almost every station is).

As my wife said, SAM Broadcaster is the most used program on the internet for broadcasting. It's easy to use and can produce a very professional sounding program.

If you have any questions, we'd be happy to answer them for you!
