Audio Mixing/Remixing/DJ'ing - 08-19-2007, 08:22 PM

I've always between interested in how remixing songs are done in clubs, as well as crossovers between songs etc...

So thought i would give it a go with a few available for software packages i had: Audacity and Soundforge.

Stumbled into my first problem, how to extract vocals from a song. Solution: impossible. Well it isn't impossible, just thats no simple way without having the master copies of each track (i.e vocals, bass, melody etc..). And the tricks are basically dampning out tracks you don't need, end result; quality not that great and the result isn't always what you expect.

So why am i blabbering on about this? Just wondering if there is anyone into this sort of thing as i would interested to start learning

Been using a software package called FL Studio (was called fruity loops before) for a week now and its really extesnive package. You can some awsome beat samples from this package. Has a huge selection of sounds to use, drum kit, voices, instruments etc...

On my way to becoming myself the new timbaland

Saw this on Digg today. It might come in handy: YouTube - Remove Vocals from Mp3s using audacity (Win/Mac/Linux) Free
