Smile Free New.. Phil Lesh and Friends - 10-06-2007, 10:23 PM

For those into Jam Bands and The Dead
Phil Lesh has put another great band together to play
Dead tunes and blues classics. In this band he found
a young guitar player Jackie Greene that really captures
the spirit of Garcia. He has given to his fans 3 Free complete
concerts. This is the Link to Phil's Page:
Phil & Friends: Rockin’ the Road | Grateful Dead

This page will give you the Links to his shows that is hosted by
Internet Archives..There you can fin these concerts in:
Flac--OGG Vorbis--64kpsMp3(for those with modems)..VBR mp3

I download the Greek Theater at VBR it appears to be at 256 vbr.
I picked this one because it's in Berkley Ca. ,The Dead's neck of the woods
and they always play well there. It a very good show.

If you are interested in old Grateful Dead concerts ..this site has many
free shows verified and OKed by the Band.
and many Jam Bands and various
artists have given shows to this site as well:
Internet Archive

Jackie Greene is fantastic!! I have his album "Rusty Nails", and it's excellent. "What I know" is one of my overplayed tracks.

Chad,

Glad you enjoyed it I listened to the whole thing tonight...and I agree
a great St Stephens and Eyes of the World is one of my favorite Dead
jams...I like the version from "Without a Net" with Branford Marsalis
on sax, a perfect 18mins of music.

There is also a great new Ryan Adams on that site from 2007
check it out.
and thanks for the 2nd Dead disc.

Take care,

Nightfly

Chad pm me with the Problem...
Did you hear The Phil Lesh and friends at the Warfield with John Scofield
on guitar and Joan Osbourne on vocals that band had a great Jazz -rock-
jam band thing going on...excellent.

I think it's great that Phil picks guitarists that are different sounding than Jerry but definetely picks up on his spirit. They make the old Dead chestnuts
sound fresh.
