Just discovered about the John Mayer Trio - John Mayers' side project, outside of the pop lime light. I believe they've formed and re-formed a couple of times during 2005 and 2006, so I am not sure if they even exist at the moment. I think this is due to the fact that the other two members (Steve Jordan and Pino Paladino) weren't duely credited and John's still the star.

Downloaded "Try!", so far the only album released by them. If they were to release a studio album, I'd be all over it!

It's a fabulous live album, which is part John Mayer solo material, part coverts of other artists, part original material. I think the album is great perhaps because I am very partial to John Mayer's honey sweet voice.

That said, I found "Try!" on MM/Sparks, but under John Mayer, and not John Mayer Trio. To give the band enough credit, I immediately changed the artist name after downloading.

I recommend this fabulous live album very highly.
