No I don't. There's a lot of people that doesn't know Marillion. Their label, EMI, never works enough to promote them, since they decide to follow their own musical path. Lately they use Internet for self-promotion.

They were well-known at the beginning of the 80's. Their singer was a guy called Fish, and they did progressive rock. But lately, with their new singer Steve Hogarth (aka "h") they play some kind of alternative+progressive+pop. So, if you are exploring them, don't be strange if you find differents voices and genres.

I recommend you ALL their albums!! Well, but my favorites are, from the Fish years, Script For A Jester's Tear & Misplaced Childhood (I think I can sing the whole album, 20 years after!), and from the Hogarth years: Brave, Marbles & This Strange Engine (this one contains 15 min of silence in the last song, so these are MBytes for nothing, I recommend you don't download it from Sparks )

Kalvin

I read about them on Wikipedia and did see those Christmas albums you are talking about!!

What I have are

Holidays in Eden
Brave
Afraid of sunlight

All of those are from Post-Fish Era, I guess.

Also have "A Singles Collection" from 1992, which I guess mostly covers the Fish Era.

Let me start from there and see whethere I like them enough to download more!!!

Goodness... Makes my collection of about 1200 vinyl LPs and abut 2000 CDs pale into insignificance.

I've found MP3Sparks (and its predecessor) reasonably good for sourcing deleted and generally difficult to find albums, but there are still many albums that I haven't found yet (and of course quite a few that have never been released on CD). As a former trader do you have any good sources for such comparatively obscure music?

I used to say I like all genres except Country & Western, but thanks to Johnny Cash's American IV and V albums, I now know better. Every genre of music has its impressive artists (although, on second thoughts, I still draw the line at German Schlagers - check out Freddy Breck singing 'Rote Rosen' on Alltunes), as well as its dross.

Koenfucius,
Yes same here I have found these sites a really excellent source
of filling in hard to find and deleted catalog..But no I do not have any contacts of old...But if you are looking for anything..I have tons of stuff available and could do my best to help you find someting with my now limited resources.
Back then I specialized in 50's and 60's and 70's rock and roll and new wave..
Many Promo and and Interview material..and Picture Discs...45 Pic Sleeves..and 12'' special edition..Like Bowie "Hero's" In Spanish..stuff like that..Blondie, Clash, Graham Parker..If you are looking for anything in particular pm me and let me know and I'll see if I can help..

Take care,

Nightfly

The memory is high because I have a several audio books on there which count as one album (for Harry Potter & the Order of the Pheonix, this is 0.9 GB),

Hi Dave, Interesting point and I haven't seen any question elsewhere on the site regarding Audio Books. Is there somewhere good to download AB's? I got a couple of AOMP3 but the selection is fairly limited. Any good ideas?

Didn't know Allofmp3 has audio books. Will check it out.

I've never "read" an audiobook before!
