Post Last.fm Info. - 11-19-2007, 11:16 PM

Last.fm is a radio station that listens to the music you play
everyday and creates a Station under your chosen Username.

You can share this stations with online "friends". Dave C asks
everybody to be his friend...lol...because its a great way to
discover new music by listening to friends stations.
And you can also see what your friends have been listening
to that day...very cool.

So far Dave C and Vikulenka and me, Nightfly and hopefully
soon ipodfan, is considering being our friend.Anyone else
interested in broadening this circle is welcome to join.

Here is the Link:

Last.fm – The Social Music Revolution

We will give you our Last.fm user names so you can add us to
your list.

The reason we use Last.fm because it originates from
the UK and allows everyone in. Pandora on the other hand does
not open its site to the global community, therefore it is not good
for our purposes.

Any questions or comments please post in this thread.

Thanks to all,

Nightfly

I mostly find it useful cause it lets me track my recent listening preferences and chart them.

With my iPod, I can only track overall playcounts, not, say, within last week, or last 3 months.

<Edit>

I synced my iTunes history on registration (it can only be done once!) and keep my iPod/iTunes in sync with Last FM now.

To the top left of the page go to ..Use The Directory
enter the user-name of the person you are looking for.
when you get to their profile page ..their is a option
to add user as friend...click on button, and you will be
automatically on that users friends list.

Just listened to it myself, and I love it Couldn't have picked them better myself

Uncle Jam? Who's that? Hmm... It is on my iPod.... ehm.... Pando wind must have blown him in............. listening now...... actually, not bad, not bad at all!!!! Funky, soulful, wanna shake my booty now.

Klaxons have some absolutely fantastic tracks, like "Golden Skans" and "Two Receivers". Download the band The Coral - their self titled album. I promise you'll love it. Start with "Dreaming Of You" and "Waiting for the Heartache". Brilliant band. They've been compared to every rock n roll band out there - but they are extremely unique. This album absolutely blew me away. They've got this amazing multi layered sound that to me sounds like a cross between The Doors <<substitute any other 60's psychedelia band here>> and a russian cossacks choir Check them out.

This explains alot. Is it a case of you can listen to a someone elses 'radio station' for free, but if you try to listen to your own you have to pay a monthly subscription? The radio station is something which I have just never looked at with last.fm, I just go by seeing other peoples playlist history and checking out what the Taste-o-meter says. Will give the radio station a bash when I get home tonight,
Cheers,
Dave C
