National Public Radio (NPR) has opened a new improved
beta Music Site that offers all types of music contents in streaming
and some content for downloading in Podcast form,of interviews, reviews, and live performances,In-studio sets, discovery aspects and my favorite, celebrity playlists.
For instance I went there they have different areas(tabs) for:
Jazz/Blues-- Classical-- Rock/Pop/Folk -- World-- and-- Urban.
All area contain playlists made by Musicians in the given genre
In Classical Yo Yo Ma gave a playlist of his 5 Favorites one of
the pics was a Brahm's Piano Concerto by Leon Fleisher with George
Szell and The Cleveland what a performance! I have to get the whole thing
now..But a full 21 mins of the first movement was a great
offering.
So you see it's a wonderful resource for discovering and listening to
new music.
Also they have all the NPR Radio stations for each genre, that are
some of the best stations in the US because they are supported by
the People.
