OK I don't know why, but I really like it!! Check out Radio Retaliation by Thievery Corporation (debuted on MM today). OK, it's not your treadmill sweating music, but it's kind of steamy nevertheless, at least 4 songs I've listened to so far.

Thanks for this, Frunze! I had just given it a test listen and wasn't sure I liked it. I'll try it again. My favorite jazz band, Down to The Bone, recommends TC.

I like steamy. Steamy and Dreamy. Poetic, isn't it? I'll check out

I usually don't go in for this music unless it's done right.
This is one of those records that cuts a good groove
and every tack is diverse. Some thing for everybody.
The main track "Radio Retaliation" is just a pure Reggeae Dub.
There is Latin,Middle Easten,African and Urban.All represented
differently. A good listen,it'll keep you on your toes for sure.

Thanks for the recommend.....

Nice, right? Now all I have to do is take a deep breath and sync my iPod - haven't done that since the ill-fated day when the Mac genius replaced my hard drive about a month ago. All playlists lost; all sorting screwed up; thank goodness I had a good sense (pretty much beaten into me by Vik and Solaris) to move all my music to an external hard drive. So I haven't even listened to the darned thing yet in its entirety. Can't wait though.

Hon, I am fairly certain that you can extract not only the music from your iPod, but also the playlists.

And aren't you glad you moved the music to the external hard drive only days before the fatal crash.

I don't know how to extract playlists. No big deal though- I almost reconstructed them all. Plus, some of them have become obsolete anyway. But yes, I feel like I dodged a big one - 50 gig of music or so (which I know isn't anything substantial by yours and Solaris' standards, but it's a lot for me, since it was - and continues to be - meticulously collected and sorted and documented and catalogued).

So how do you show "offline" yet post at the speed of light?

I think I've seen software that extracts playlist as well. I never have had to extract them though, because I only ever needed to extract music from others' iPods

User CP -> Edit Options -> Use Invisible Mode

There are a zillion Windows applications, which will help you recover iPod playlists - but on first try I only found this one for Mac:

Ollie's iPod Extractor 5.1 - MacUpdate
