Thumbs up Roger Waters - 03-23-2008, 09:50 PM

Anyone seen the Roger Waters tour in the past year -- he does a two set show with "Dark Side of the Moon" in it's entirety the 2nd set. He is playing a handful of shows in the US this spring, and I'm hittin' the Denver show on 4/30. Andy Fairwether-Low and Andrew Latimer (Camel) on guitar, possibly Nick Mason for the Dark Side stuff. I'm so stoked...

Hi Kaeli

No, but I bet you're going to enjoy it I saw Floyd play "Dark Side Of The Moon" at Knebworth Park (UK) in 75; it was quite something. The set started with two Spitfires doing a flypast, and just kept getting better...drifts off into memories...

I saw Roger and his band do this same show last Autumn. DSotM is spine tingling, and the rest of the show is just as enjoyable. Highly recommended.

It's very much like his "In the Flesh Live" show (which is a great DVD too), absent the very impressive Doyle Bramhall II.

Right on, Jasn. I know others who witnessed the "In The Flesh" shows a few years back, and they still rave about that show being one the most mesmerizing "sight + sound" shows. I passed it up to see Rush instead, me being on a one concert per month budget at the time.

Gluteus - Floyd at Knebworth in '75, now that is something to brag about! I also would have loved to see the original "Animals" tour shows, with all the flying pigs, sheep, etc. Places like Knebworth, the Hammersmith, etc. I've always wanted to experience that kind of show. To me, it just doesn't get much better than Floyd... (best concert shirt I ever saw, the Floyd pig instead of GW on the dollar...."In Floyd We Trust" below it it.

I saw him live a few years ago at Wembley (UK), probably the best show I have seen. He had Andy Fairwether-Low then, with Snowy White on guitar, his son on keyboards, and yes Nick Mason made an appearance on drums.

I didn't get there until 1980 (The Beach Boys, Santana, Mike Oldfield, Elkie Brooks, Lindisfarne, The Blues Band), shame about the 5,000 ping pong balls, dropped by a B17 Flying Fortress, into the wrong field

Are you sure you were in the right field?
