It's that your list is very "encyclopedic"

I thought that as well after I looked at it...

The list may be a bit cliche, but instead of being creative I was honest.
That's list of bands meant a great deal to me at one time or another, saw many of them including the original Temps and 4 Tops at Atlantic City in 1965 a day that changed my life.I also saw the Ike and Tina Turner Review at Palisades Park in NJ in 1966.They are #22

I could have made a more comtemporary list to be "cool" but that
wouldn't work....never does....

Glad you liked it sorta though..

I'm thinking about the favorite Lyrics thread..I love Dylan but that's
to easy for me.I have to think awhile on that and be more creative there.

Edit:I left out The Rolling Stones they should be #2.....

"Cool"? Have you seen my list and how extremely uncool it is?

I guess to me your list seems to factor in the band's textbook qualities, such as how influential they were on others, rather than whether you truly enjoy them yourself 10% 80s. 10% 90. 80% 60s&70s. That's why I mentioned the Rolling Stones chart

Dreamy on the other hand is the opposite extreme

You had mentioned you like Tom Waits before. I forgot. You might get a kick out of the Scarlett Johansson (yes, that Scarlett Johansson) recently released album of Tom Waits covers "Anywhere I Lay My Head". It's surprisingly enjoyable. I promise.

Seriously? I will check it out. Tom Waits just had a tour, and I missed it like an idiot. Who knows when he will get out to do a concert again. Bummer. Although his shows were sold out almost immediately - but I would have bought a ticket from a scalper if I had known. I am sad.

Your list is "cool" because it relates to You and is contemporary
and I like many of the bands included on your list.

Even Abba I have a place for, because they have some really quality written
pop songs for the masses. The world loves them.
I loved Muriel's Wedding... confession time....

With all those Thes in that list, Nightfly, you really ought to have The The stuck in there somewhere
Yes."The" in the groups name is a pain for sure.
I rename all the artists names like this now.
Byrds,The
Doors,The
etc.
Now when I'm looking for the Doors,I look under D ,not T.
I don't know how many times I've redownloaded an album because I didn't think I had it.
But sure enough, there it was under T.

Nightfly does have a good list there for sure, but I wouldn't put Beatles,The at the top of the list.
My list?
Didn't I do this already in a different thread?
