Wow! Tough one!

Almost anything off of Led Zep 1 would work, but my fav's are:

'Dazed and Confused"
" Communication Breakdown"
"How Many More Times"

Of course, you can't forget side one/cut one: "Good Times Bad Times" probably the first time most people heard Led Zep and the opening riffs are unforgetable.

Yardbirds: (Jeff Beck played on all)

"Shapes of Things"
"Heart Full of Soul"
"Evil Hearted You"

All can be found on "Having a Rave Up" an album I about wore out back in the mid sixties! All because I was too cheap/poor to buy sheet music and had to learn for use by the garage band I was in at the time

Don't forget early stuff by Hendrix and early 70's cuts by Deep Purple, Black Sabbath etc.. Depends on your definition of Heavy Metal though.

Just as a side note: I turned my 15 year old grandson on to a lot of late sixties and early 70's stuff just the way you are trying to do. He calls it "Classical Rock". All he listens to now.

Disclosure: Led Zeppelin is not even in the top 10 of my favorite bands. I just believe they deserve some credit for what they do.

The wheel turns.

If you need help for more, let me know.

Mark

Hi Nightfly,

after acquiring most of the Procol's albums, one of my favourites and strangely my last one I purchased is "One More Time", a Live one.
Of the six shops I use only this one had it:-

Procol Harum, One More Time mp3 music - GoldenMp3.Ru

BIG, BIG sound from a great band, a hidden jem in my opinion.

Read about it before you buy, I was impressed.

Procol Harum : One More Time

Chris.

Thanks for the head's up about this Live one - I just got lazy and downloaded "Secrets of the Hive" which I really like.

I also picked up some of the Trower releases I missed on - great stuff too IMO!

No problem!
"Shapes" seems to be the one tune that a lot of folks remember. As I recall, it got a lot of air play on the local stations back in the mid sixties.
While it was good, they did some better stuff.
Check out "Having a Rave Up" if you get a chance.

Mark

I am listening to this as I type, I am honestly impressed with this album especially, (I have downloaded about 12 now)

I think you will be if you do not already have it?

Regards Chris.
