Please bear in mind I am an old rocker.

Rolling Stones and the 3 x Bigger Bang "Live" concerts (on mp3fiesta).
Bruce Springsteen "Magic/Live in Dublin."
Heaven & Hell "Live from Radio City Music Hall"
Jorn "Live in America".
Ringo Starr "Best Of"
Dream Theater "Systematic Chaos"

Hows that for starters?

P.S. Add David Gilmour "Remember That Night Live at Royal Albert Hall" to that.

Don't know about the rest of 2007, but this past month alone has been incredible for new music (from old artists)--

I love love love love love the new Annie Lennox CD (Songs of Mass Destruction). Her voice can still blow the roof off a house. So powerful. So raw. Love the whole album - favorite track is "Ghost in my Machine" , no contest. Other faves are a "Love is Blind", "Big Sky", current single "Dark Road', "Through the glass darkly".

Love the new album from funky soul diva Chaka Khan. She can definitely still bring it. "Funk this!"

And the new album from the Boss (Springsteen - Magic) is incredible. He's too much Americana, apple pie, and red white and blue for this Russian born and bred girl, but this album is fantastic. Besides, I'm going to the concert next week - gots to do my homework!

I agree Bruce's new album is excellent a great return of The E Street Band..
but I Bruce gets a Bad rap with the Americana thing because of his
"Born In The USA" which was actually a Anti War song and cynical look
at the US Gov. He represents the unheard, unrepresented Working class in our country and leans as far left as you can go.His writing landscape
is definitely Americana but his views are not.

Now Tim McGraw a country singer that supports the President,The War.
He's red white and blue, apple pie, Americana..and he for my personal tastes
is nowhere close to Bruce as a artist or Representative of the masses
here in the US.

Yee haa! Nightfly, I'll definitely give Bruce a spin - maybe even listening to the lyrics this time?

Vik,

I agree his point of foucus is always very American with references
to cars, motorbikes, girls and American images. But his characters are filled
with broken dreams and hurt, some caused by the economy, war and
rising above the class structure here in the US.

I only point this out because there are so few musical hero's in our
country of his status, that openly supports the working class.
If you looked up the phrase working class hero...There would be
a picture of Bruce...

Take care,

Nightfly

Annie Lennox is on Jay Leno tonight. Good timing, as I'd just gotten the new album.

I am loving Waldeck's, Ballroom Stories. Get Up...Carmen is the standout for me but all are uniquely good.

Another favorite is Balkan Beat Box Nu Med this is the followup to their 2005 release, Balkan Beat Box. Music to make you happy.
